2010 Boater Safety Courses Being Offered In Chautauqua County Are As Follows

The Chautauqua County Office of the Sheriff will be holding 4 boater safety courses this spring. There is NO PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED and the courses are free to everyone under the age of 18. Those attendees age 18 and over will have to pay a $10.00 fee to New York State prior to receiving the certification card.

This class is required for anyone age 10 to 18 that wants to operate a vessel, and for EVERYONE age of 14 and up (including adults) to legally operate a personal watercraft (jet ski). Again there is NO PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED for any of these courses. Ages of operation can be viewed on our laws section of this website.

May 1, 2010 Cassadaga American Legion, 228 Maple St., Cassadaga 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
May 8, 2010 and May 15, 2010 Southwestern Middle School, 600 Hunt Rd., Jamestown, NY 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
(must attend both classes)
May 29, 2010 St. Timothy's Church, 3748 Rt. 430, Bemus Point, NY 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
June 5, 2010
Hartfield Fire Hall, Elmwood Dr., Mayville, NY 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
