When
a Hazardous materials situation occurs anywhere in Chautauqua County,
the Hazardous Materials Team is summoned. Examples of when the team is
needed are...a large fuel spill or an accident where one or more of the
vehicles involved is carrying hazardous materials that have been compromised.
Their primary function is to identify the materials and to coordinate
efforts for their safe cleanup and disposal to prevent damage to the
environment and to protect persons living near the spill. |
